Make a Planner Cover: Part 2

Now that you've got the basic background for your planner cover, it's time to embellish it a little, and add a title. After using ribbon for this project, I decided a strip of paper would have been easier, but I had the perfect color, and I just love ribbon. So if you just have to use ribbon, follow these instructions. Otherwise, just cut a strip of paper instead of the ribbon. Cut a length of ribbon about 1.5 inches longer than the width of your cover. Slide a ribbon slide (buckle) onto the ribbon. I centered mine over my side strip of paper. Lay 3 solid eyelets (or you could use brads) where you want them. Using a fine tip marker, make tiny dots on the ribbon where you want each eyelet.

You will need to snip a small hole in the ribbon at each dot, to poke the eyelet or brad through. If you use paper, you can use a tiny hole punch or the point of a pencil.

Next, place your ribbon on your binder cover where you want it. Using the marker, mark dots through the holes in the ribbon onto the cover underneath. Using a pencil poke small holes in the cover, at each mark, for the eyelets or brads. Next, use an eyelet kit or clik-it tool, to attach your eyelets through the ribbon and the daily planner cover. If you're using brads, just pop them into the holes and spread the prongs flat in back. To finish off the ribbon, wrap the excess around to the back of the planner binder cover, and attach with scrapbook tape runner, or other two-sided tape.
