Making Earrings Double Drop Style
Making earrings is so simple, you will wonder why you didn't try it before! These double drop earrings are created by adding one more step to Simple Drop Earrings. This added step adds a little more movement and bling to simple drop earrings.

If you've never made earrings before, I suggest you start with a pair of Simple Drop Earrings first, which will teach you the techniques needed for these earrings as well as for chandelier earrings. For this double drop style you will use an eyepin instead of a head pin for your first drop. For making earrings with a double drop you will need: - 2 fish hook ear wires (you could also use ball posts)
- 2 - 1.5 to 2 inch eyepins (for first drop)
- 2 - 1 inch flat headpins (for second drop)
- your choice of beads

You will also need some simple tools, which you probably already have on hand. - needle nose pliers
- round nose pliers
- wire cutters

How to Make Earrings - Step-by-Step
Step 1: Thread your choice of beads on to the eye pins.

Step 2: Using your wire cutters, snip off the head pin about 7mm above the last bead.

Step 3: Form a loop. Straighten the loop if necessary. For detailed instructions on forming and straightening a loop, see Simple Drop Earrings, steps 4 and 5.Step 4: Set aside the top drop. Next, thread beads onto the head pins. I used one lamp-work bead and a seed bead above it. TIP: If your bead slides off the headpin because the hole is too large, thread another seed bead or a crimp bead onto the pin first, then thread your larger bead on top of that. Step 5: Cut the wire off 7mm above the top bead.

Step 6: Open the bottom dangle loop a little by opening to the side. (see Simple Drop Earrings step 6 for more information)Step 7: Slip the bottom dangle loop onto the eye of the top dangle. Using needle nose pliers, close the loop. (see Simple Drop Earrings step 7.)

Step: 8: Open the top loop of the upper dangle and slide onto the loop of the earwire. Close the loop. Thats it - you are finished! See how easy making earrings is?

If you are ready for a slightly more challenging project try making Chandelier Earrings. They are just as easy, and use the same techniques. They just have more steps and take a little longer to make...but they are so worth it! Check out how beautiful they are here.
