Make Elegant Fabric Coasters
Step 3: Iron, Hand Stitch and Topstitch
Iron your beverage coasters, turning under the edges of the opening.
Slip a felt square inside each one, making sure it lies flat within the coaster.
Hand sew the opening closed. Hide your knot by slipping your needle under the fold of the opening. Then stitch across the opening taking tiny stitches first in bottom fabric, then top fabric, etc.
Finally, topstitch the coaster about 3/8 inch from edge.
That's it! So easy and so pretty! Present your fabric coasters nicely by tying a piece of beautiful ribbon around the set like a present. You now have an elegant set of custom beverage coasters you or your lucky gift recipient will love!
For an extra special homemade gift, include a bottle of wine, perhaps a couple of wine glasses, and tuck it all in a pretty basket with your custom-made wine glass coasters!
