Homemade Christmas Ornaments Step 3: Color and assemble
Color in the snowman with markers before cutting out, to make it easier to handle.

Cut the snowman out, trimming close, but leaving a narrow border around the snowman.

Glue the snowman to the center of your ornament, with his feet in the "snow" at the bottom.

At this point you can frame your homemade Christmas ornament if you like. I didn't have time to find frames, so I embossed the edges with silver embossing powder. For this step, I used a clear embossing pen to trace a border around the edge of the ornament.

Then I embossed with the silver powder. To build up the edge a little, I embossed twice. TIP: To emboss twice, let the ornament cool first, before repeating the embossing, so you don't pull any of the previous embossing off with the embossing pen.

To finish, punch a small hole in the top center of your ornament, thread with 1/8 inch ribbon and tie it off.

There you have it - quick and easy, homemade Christmas gifts to give your friends and family. These can be made in assembly line fashion (I did it with the three I made for my kids). They would also make great teacher gifts, or holiday hostess gifts. If you love snowman crafts, make a bunch for your own tree!
